Is it Time to Change to Linux?

That is a question with no simple answer. Linux has come a long ways over the past few years. It went from being an operating system that was only for computer geeks, to a user friendly operating system. Installation was extremely difficult and configuration was tough. That has all changed. If you can navigate in Windows, or want to learn computers, you will be at home here. You can use applications that do the same functions as your Windows applications, but free. Don't think of free as in free beer, but free as in freedom. Why is it free? I hear this constantly. Read the story and it will make sense.
Here is a comparison of applications you will find in Linux to the ones you may use now.

This list is only a few of the applications available to Linux users. I prefer PCLinuxOS for my operating system. There are a lot of different distros, or versions of Linux to be used. Why do I prefer PCLinuxOS? This is why. Besides these packages, or programs to Windows users, there are an additional 5500 packages available for PCLinuxOS. You can even install packages that were not packaged for this operating system, but their may be some issues with doing this and I will talk about that in "Good House Keeping."
If this is interesting to you, and you think the time may be now to try Linux, get started by going to THE JOURNEY menu on the right side and start at the top. Even if you decide not to try it there is a lot to be learned there. Linux is not for everyone, but you owe it to yourself to find out if you are a candidate or not. By reading through the pages you can come to a clear decision if this is something you should try.
Welcome to Freedom, Welcome to Linux!
