PCLinuxOS 2009.1

This is a little different from what you may be used to seeing. I am going to walk you through exactly what you will see during an installation with an interactive presentation. I would rather show you partitioning, rather than talking about it, so you will see that here. Once you have watched the presentation you can print a copy of the Notes for Installation and have them in front of you when you go through the installation process. The installation is really very simple so you may not even need the notes. The / or root partition is the main thing I would like to focus on. If you make it too small they you will get into the world of gparted or other utilities to make it bigger, and that is not really a place you want to go if you are just learning this. Don't forget to keep reading after you get the installation complete. If you do not continue to read remember this one thing. Don't use the root account for your daily activities! I've been there done that. You will run out of space before you know what hit you, not to mention it is a horrible habit to get into for a multitude of reasons. That being said, let's get started. Choose from the Large or Small format, depending on the resolution you are viewing this in. If you are 800x600 you may want to use the small. Anything higher should be fine with Large. The presentation will open in a new browser window. Once it is complete just close the window.
