Helping You Overcome Your Technology Challenges

What Are TechAlternatives?
Alternatives to the way you confront technology challenges. Desktop and laptop computers are becoming daily necessities for us. When they misbehave finding answers to your problems can be frustrating. The cost of a computer repair or upgrade can be very expensive. If they come to your home to do it the price is even higher. An alternative way of doing it would be to have me come to your home and provide computer and networking services for prices that are less than taking it to the store. I service all versions of Windows and offer many services.
Do You Need a Network
If you have computers, laptops, a smartphone, either Blackberry or Palm, online gaming devices like XBox, or some other brand and one broadband connection you need a wireless network. The most important part of a wireless network is security. You don't want neighbors downloading music or browsing your network. I can set a very secure wireless network up for you and show you grant access to allow computers into it, if you decide you need to do that.
The landscape has changed!
Networks used to be an environment for computers and devices to communicate. That has changed. Today it is still used for that, but it is also used to attach socially. As the Internet society grows, intrusion methods increase. Identity theft, scams, frauds and other bad things are out there. We will discuss steps to take to protect your private life from these things, and how to monitor if they are trying to get you.
Is it Time to Change to Linux?
That is a question with no simple answer. Linux has come a long ways over the past few years. It went from being an operating system that was only for computer geeks, to a user friendly operating system. Installation was extremely difficult and configuration was tough. That has all changed. If you can navigate in Windows, or want to learn computers, you will be at home here. You can use applications that do the same functions as your Windows applications, but free. Don't think of free as in free beer, but free as in freedom. Are you ready for Linux? Linux is ready for you.
Who are you?
I am Keith Hagans, a Systems Engineer at a major medical center in Cleveland, OH. I work on computers and servers all day. At the end of the day I still want to work on computers. I love technology. I see tons of people that just need some guidance. They don't have that "friend that knows computers." I want to be your friend that knows computers. You can ask me any question. I don't have all the answers, but I know how to find them.
